My Dear Father:

Received your letter last night Dated Jan 29th was awfully glad to hear from you. I just had a letter ready to send to you. We are having very Spring like weather now hope it keeps up. the winter over here is no Bon. when we have to stand in the tranches night and day. but thank goodness that I have been clear of that this winter.

I thought I would be in Eng. by this time But I guess it won't be long now.

I have not received Jessies letter yet but I suppose it will be along today or tomorrow.

You will have my letter long before you get this telling you that I got the $500 you sent about xmas time and it sure does come in good.

No Doubt it will be Spring weather by the time you get this letter. I wish I could tell you just what I am doing now and where we are I will tell you when I get to Eng.

How is Mrs [?] Just as good a singer as ever? I wish I could hear some good music Perhaps when I do to Scotland I might hear some.

I see by orders that some of the mail has been lost at sea. I guess none of mine went down.

I had a letter from Cod a short time ago.

I don't know what the matter with Ron is I have not heard from him since I wrote him about Spencer.

Sadie tells me that she has a [?]

It must seem pretty strange around home since we all left but you are no doubt used to it by this time.

I think it's a good thing for the gov. to build up Hfx. if they put up some nice Houses which no doubt they will first fix it up in good shape

Doug Burris is at the [?] Ambulance escort over a chap that went out of his head a bit

well I guess there is nothing more to write today
