Dearest Father:

Just a few lines to let you know that I am well and came out of this last big scrap O.K. we lost a lot of good men again have been pretty busy since we started the 8th of Aug. at this pushing old Fritz back where he belongs.

Charlie Reid came to us a few days ago he is just the same old boy as he was before he left. not much like some of the officers

I have never been sick since I came to France and never missed a trip in the line since joining the Batt.

I had a letter from Harold Bent[?] a few days ago he will likely be over here before long

How is Gower getting along? I suppose O.K. I hope this war ends soon so that I can get back and make a living for myself. by the way that Fritz runs when we go for him. he would just as soon give up as not. there is not very much news. I must say good night for this time

Lots of Love to All
