Dear Madam
I now take the opportunity to write you a few lines as your husband asked me to do when we left him in the ambulance on the 13th May. I may also state that he was not seriously wounded although he suffered a great deal of pain before he arrived at the dressing station but must state that everything was done by the Doctor that attended him to make him as easy as possible
I may also state in behalf of the Section he belonged to as well as myself that we were all very sory to lose such a kind and loving chum and miss him greatly but do hope that you have had a letter from your husband by this time yourself and that he is on the good road to recovery long ere now.
Well madam I will conclude now with the greatest sympathy for yourself and children from all of us here.
I remain
Yours Sincerely
