Dear Jake :-

I just recieved your airgraph today and was glad to hear from you again.  I am not too bad and gaining a little weight here and there.  I see you are aboard ship again.  How do you like it.

I got a lot of mail from home especially from Viv.  She writes me 2 times a week I think.

I had a letter from George Thomas.  He is in Hospital at the moment.   Nothing serious though.  He caught a few pains in the gut so they sent up.  I wrote you 2 letters to Niobe.  I guess you never recieved them.  I had a parcel from home with a watch in it and some nice Maple Sugar.  The watch is a swell one and I’ve fixed it all up with a wide wristband.

I don’t know whether I got a Jerry for you or not.  Every time I let fly with my Bren Gun they scatter all over the place.  You never see any Jerry’s only in small numbers and there dug in trenches.

So you got a tatoo eh.  I may get one my self one of these days.   Nearly everyone around here has one.
