Perth R. CMF.
Aug 24.1944.

I recieved a letter from you few days ago and just had time off this morning to write to you.  I am doing O.K. and hope you are all fine at home.  The weather here is still very hot and yesterday we marched about 10 miles in it  Boy I was like roasted turkey when I got finished.  I had a letter from Jake the other day and he seems to be doing pretty good.  I answered his letter the day I recieved it because if I put it off I never get it wrote.

The other day we had our platoon Party.  Lots of Vino and a good time had by all.  We had a picture show the same night but I don’t think anyone could see it straight.

I mailed home the souvanirs and card for everyone.   they are all sorted so you won’t have to mess around handing them out.  I still have a little image of St. Peter’s Cathedral made of some kind of metal. It’s really a nice little piece of work.  I also have a few cards left too.

I have not seen or heard from George Thomas.  I guess he is back with his unit by now.

Well Mom, I guess this is all for now so I will close.

Lots of Luck.
A Loving Son.
