Sir,

With reference to your letter of the 7th ultimo, I am to express the regret of the Commission that they do not feel able to sanction the erection of a private cross to the memory of W.R. Gullen, and I am to say that instructions have been issued for a cross to be erected by the Commission, to his memory in Orchard Dump Cemetery, Arleux-en-Gohelle, North East of Arras.
