DUSSELDORF AGAIN HAMMERED
Heavy R.A.F. Attack On Ruhr Town
[and]
DUSSELDORF STILL BURNS: 3,000 DEAD

[handwritten heading and note:]

LANCASTER “K”     3:11:43     NO. 16.
D.O.T. 4:40

B.D.T.D.  41 TON  18 CWT  64 LBS.

No trouble encountered on the way into the target. We didn’t see very much of the usual Happy Valley Flak. S:L were operating in sort of a half hearted maner. The trip was a special experiment for us. We had to fly over main target to a special one about 3 miles further on. The moon was very bright and the B.A. saw the bend in the river Rine as we passed over dead on track
Saw too many bursts of tracer on the way home and it gave us a very uncomfortable feeling. One of our best trips all round. The target was very well hit
