Dear Mother

I received your two litters of Jan 2 and Jan 15 to-day also Helens letter of Jan 22 and one from Bob Brown. I wrote you last night and I said we had heard there had been some mail lost but we had a bunch to-day so maybe that is wrong I sure hope so. Glad to hear you got the Christmas Cards I sent also the broach it was much Mother I only wish it could have been more but things are so terribly expencesive here.

Glad to hear you heard us over the radio and that it was so clear I sure hope we get another chance to speak I will say more next time I received the Cable with the money quite a while ago. Glad to hear you got my Cable it only cost me two shilling six pence which was a special rate for the troops at Christmas. That picture of you was ever so good and I was so glad to get it you sure are looking well hope you are as well as the picture looks. Those pictures of Muriel and Bob sure are good Bob sure is a nice looking kid. What has George got on in the picture a parka

I had a letter from Cis awhile ago and she sent me to pictures of Carol she sure is darling I am just dying to see her. Gosh David sure spent enough on New years and having his cocktails just so he must be getting quite the lad my one hope is he doesen’t have to go in the Army I got your litter of Dec 27 with the Cheque in it a couple of weeks ago. That is quite a surprise Barrington marrying Frances I take it you mean Francis Manning I cant see her living up north.

Yes I received all your parcels some I got after Christmas and there was nothing broken in them everything was so swell Mother. yes I got the two presents George sent me and wrote him a letter. I also got the present David sent in the parcels of Dec 10 and it was so good of him especialy it been out of his first pay and he isint getting very much I wrote two letters telling you about my leave I went through Madame Toussad and it certainly was worth seeing

Yes I got the parcels of Dec 10 is was lucky I sure have been pretty lucky with parcels I don’t think I have lost any since I have been here

That certainly was a very nice note Jack sent to Dad I am going to write him to-night

The Christmas Cake was lovely and was cooked all the way through the boys in my hut were crazy about it and I know you couldnt have got a better cake any where yes I found the lights in the Christmas box and it was just what I needed as matches are pretty hard to get here

Well I guess that is about all I can think of for now so will write again in a few days so please don’t worry give my love to all

Much love
Mac
