#1 "Y" Depot, Lachine, P. Q.

September 26, 1944

Dear Mom,
Just a few lines to let you know that I'm o. k. and had a swell leave. We even went horseback riding and there were no ill effects! Both days were brim full and I kept going all the time. It was a good way to spend the last few days in Canada. I received the snaps. Thanks.

All in all, the place looks like the old Manning Depot. We've been tearing around and have hardly had a chance to rest. We're really moving fast.

I'll send all my mail as "Air Mail", and you do the same. It will get first preference, and travel faster than regular mail. And it should travel fast or it may miss me some day, since I'll be gone from here.

Hope all is well at home. Anxious to hear from you.

Love to all, Lewis.
