Dear Dad,

We have had no mail this week, and neither have I written. Between photography and seeing “A little bit of Fluff” who was down from London, I have been kept pretty busy. I will send some snaps of her later. Sure some kid, only nineteen, but a typical English girl. I don’t think I ever mentioned how much more the girls are developed here than in Canada. I believe it is because they take such an interest in athletics. This girl is one of ten of sisters, and sure has been brought up that way. Her Father brought them up with the idea that they were not to let a man beat them at anything, and everything he did, they had to follow. She swims like a fish, and plays cricket, rows, or takes the parallel bars, etc with any man. She is only up to about my shoulder, but weighs ten stone and is as hard as nails.

I have made a few really good pictures with my camera, but can send you more yet, as I have not supplied the demand here yet. I made two negatives of the baseball team, and so far, have supplied or have orders for three dozen, at 1/-. Besides the ones of the buildings, the first of which I sold to-day. It is a little hard getting paper & supplies, but I had a letter from London, that some is on the way now, & that will mean more work. Of course I so thoroughly enjoy it, and it fills up many evenings.

The Col., has been confined to bed for some weeks now, but is able to be up again, and as soon as he is able to be around again, I am going to ask permission to take pictures inside, and to send these to the Canadian papers. I should get a little out of it that way. You will see that our name has been slightly altered, although I think it is the hospital, rather than the unit. Our establishment has been raised to a 550 (I think) bed hospital. This of course includes Seaford.

My address as long as here, will be

534709 Pte WWD
14th Canadian General Hospital,
Meads, Eastbourne,

Sussex.

Your affectionate son,
Worth.
