Dear Mrs Burnett

Sorry I have been so long in answering your letter and you sure have my deepest sympathy in this sad time and dear little Hughena how she will keep remembering you of her Daddy but you still have her as a comfort and I hope that you may both receive a Blessing and comfort from One who can give both without fail and though I have not written I and Ern have both been talking of you many times as I was at Ern’s when I got your sad message and I will be here for some time as Ern is building a new house and His wife expects and so many men to cook and you know I seem to always come handy around here. I wish you could come and see the place here now when it is finished of course it will be a while yet. Poor Noma so far away but she seems to like it down there so I must not complain as she is in good health the rest are all getting big boys. The weather is very warm here at present The crops are looking fair and help is very scarce both inside and out. Now I trust this may find you and Hughena both well and that your mouth is all better as I know what it is to have teeth out I will close with warmest love to you both and hope to hear from you again
