Dear Nell

We got here a ten oclock tursday night left Westminster Monday night, and I could not possibly telephone, but I asked Josh to let you know that night, and thats the best I could do. Since we came up here it has been busy settling down, that they have not had time to get stamps, and that is the reason that I did not write before.

It certainly is a fine country up here but awfully hot, and at the rate we have started in at, we are going to get lots of drill. I have not been before the doctor yet, and maybe wont for , sixty days so dont get down hearted, most of the boys say we will be in Westminster in October so that will help some. And the fair is twenty three dollars return from here, so Ill have to do something to get back, remember me to everybody, and dont forget to write soon and let me know how you and little sweetheart are getting along, dont do any worrying, because it dont help any and just look on the bright side of things,. Be as good as you can, and always remember that somebody up here is thinking of you both. good-bye and write soon, to you both

xxxxxxxx
Daddy.
