My Dear Nerta,

As the regulations have let up a little, I will from time to time send you a few post cards. As I may duplicate, Please send any such on to Floss.

I got a white and cream scarf for Floss, rather heavier than the one I sent Mir. and a collar to match, also a pair of fussy French garters. Will send them to her early in the month. Hope she likes it, you needn’t worry tho about not having me for some time to come. Five years at the very least. I have too much to do. At present I am trying to get entrance to the Worshipfull Company of Spectacle Makers or similar institution for a period up to six months. If successful I will immediately apply for furlough or possibly discharge. Where I will take my leave, greatly depends on this. My French leave has been held up by the S.M. and I may get an opening in Blighty leave (which has started) before the other comes thro. If so and I think I could make better arrangements by going to Blighty, I may do so. It is just possible that I might have to see Major Clarke to settle matters from that end. Frank Darrow advised me to see him if I needed anything done. If I succeed in this, I will likely get home as soon as otherwise and will be learning something, instead of hanging around in rest camps etc. I will keep you posted on it as I go along.

I do hope Mrs Stover was not too sick. I saw an article by Dr. Stevenson of London (I believe he has since died of Flu) in which he said wearers of glasses were much less likely to contract Flu. Tell Mir. (if she is still in it) to keep hers on.

You people surely had a series of “peace” celebrations around there. Hope that one more will finish it tho.

Now, My Dear, if I am able to get South, I think I can return from Paris via Rouen, and if this is possible, you can depend on it, that I will do all in my power to get what you ask. I know what you would do for me, under similar circumstances.

Will write again in a few days.

Love to all
Your loving brother,
Worth.

P.S. – I think among a bunch of duplicate snaps I sent from Eastbourne, you will find some of Killarney Cathedral – interior and exterior. If so, please send me one of each.
