Dear Bi.

Just taking first rest for 3 months I am not in any Company as I have a roving Commission and come and go at my own will except when on special duty. It is rather pleasant at present, our HQ being so crowded. The MO the Padre and I have formed a mess of our own. I expect to run forward tomorrow. I am getting along fine. Have been through their lines many times now and are continually causing them to fall back which they do, after destroying everything possible even cutting down all fruit trees. have your spuds well tended as I may want some. Everything is as well as we can expect but it is hard to keep the transport up to us. However we are not doing badly. Best Wishes to All. Tell J.M. I did not his book but just rec his letter of March 12th and yours of March 13th both still addressed to England so I put in my address
