Dear Phyllis, Ed and Jane,

I am sending these instead of Christmas cards because they are faster and I can say more. So with this comes all my best wishes to you all for a Merry Christmas and a very happy and we hope peaceful New Year. Maybe we can all be together next time. It is too good to think about. Christmas here looks as if it will be pretty dull and just about as bad as my last one. It is the hottest time of the year here and that is just not what I have been brought up to expect for Christmas weather. – Have a nice big piece of turkey for me, Jane. I will try and come next year to help you to eat your next one.

Much love to all,
Hampton.
