Tue May 1, 1945:
Still chilly weather. Had breakfast. Ordered a uniform. Climbed into bed and slept till 3 pm. Dentist at 3:15 pm. A very good rebuild job. Had supper - later went round to K of C canteen, then to bed.

Wed May 2, 1945:
Not as cold today. Had a bath and shave before breakfast. No uniform in yet. Visited a book store until noon. Had lunch. An RAF - LAC makes a mistake and gains a meal. Most of the shops closed, but Jimmy Paton and I roamed round town. We had tea and cakes at Bobby’s, supper and a slight rest. Out to Boscombe to Palais.

Thur May 3, 1945:
Raining.

Fri May 4, 1945 to May 16, 1945:
no entry.

Thurs May 17, 1945:
Enter sick quarters at Bournemouth with jaundice.
