Dear Every body-

I hope this Turkish Delight reaches you in good condition. It does not begin to compare with the lovely home made candy I received at christmas time, but this confection seems to be a specialty in this country.

The weather is getting quite warm now in the day time but still is comfortably cool at night. The warm sun is bringing out all sorts of creepy things and beautiful nile green lizzards play leap frog across the floor of our tent regardless of the fact that we are present at the time. The tent next ours is occupied by night nurses. Yesterday we heard a great commotion there and upon inquiring the cause learned that one of the nurses had awakened to discover a snake in the middle of the room. The sisters made such a row that the poor animal beat a very hasty retreat.

I received the invitation to the dance. Thanks so much, but am sorry I cannot accept as I have nothing to wear.

With love.
