Dear Mother:

Here I am at it again although I have not any idea as to what I can put down here. I can hardly realize it is getting so near Christmas again as there is nothing whatever out here to make a fellow think of Christmas at all. The only things I am looking forward to is the parcel mailed by you plenty early enough as I have had the letter a month nearly. It has not got much longer to stop on the road though if I am to get it by Xmas which is still possible though very improbable

The weather here has been showery this past week and very hot but the turning point to cool weather comes in three or four days. There is nothing definite in regards to our leave yet but we fully expect some in a month or so now. We have been clearing up the country for some time now and that is nearly finished

Well Mother I will have to close this for now hoping you are all well at home as I am I remain

Your loving son
Harold.

Love to all
