My dear Gwladys

Your very welcome letter of July 7th to hand OK. And so you had a good time in Conway, & it did not take you long to learn to ride Iris's bicycle, I guess before long you will be riding the one Mother rides.

Am writing this letter in a large French house what they call a Chateau out here, & this is the dining room, & just behind me near the ceiling there is a swallow's nest, with two young swallows who are just looking over the edge now, the mother bird every little while flies in through the window to feed the young ones.

And so Ida is the new maid, do you like her?

Write me soon again. Fondest love to Mother, Eric, Frank & yourself.

Your loving Dada
