My darling girl
We got into the first line last night, today is a beautiful day, sun shining brightly, British & Bosche [sic] machines flying around, Archies from both sides trying to bring them down. Saw a fight yesterday between one of our planes & 5 Bosches, they were however too strong for our man & he had to beat it. Well darling you can understand we dont have all the convenience of a home where we are now, so will not be a be able to make this a very long letter. Its pretty jake for you having relations in all the branches of trade, Ironmongers, Grocers, & Butchers, the two latter of course being the most important, in these days, almost as good perhaps better than the A.S.C, you want to work them for all you're worth, trust you for that. All your letters have not caught me up yet, so am expecting quite a budget one of these days.
Well darling will draw to [a] close. Hug & kiss the bairns for me. Fondest love to you all.
Your loving hubby
