Dear Gladys

Just a few lines to let you know I re’d your most kind and ever welcome letter a few days ago and was sure glad to hear from you but it done a lot of travelling around before I got it I got [?] the night before I left the base I am at the Batt now. I saw a lot of the 162 boys while I was down there they had just came over so they have had a good time of it. I saw Harry White I think your father knows him he lives out in the dutch settlement but he had run up and came down sick we were in convalescent together Well Gladys I think I will close for this time hoping those few lines may find you all well as it leaves me at present I remain as ever
