Dear Gladys

Just a line or two in answer to your welcome letter which I received a long time ago.

I wrote to Tom about a week ago and this is the first time I have had to do any writing since. I told him to get you to send me Pete Tarrs address but I met him the other day and had a long talk with him he only came to France a few weeks ago he said that Harold was in France to but I dident see him

Did yous hear that Dan Astley was dead he died with pneumonia about a month ago

Tell Charlie I received his letter last night and will answer it some of those fine days. What is Ernest doing those days is he stills sporting Sophia. I havent had a letter from him for a long time now. There is no new to write so with love to all will say good bye

Joe

These few lines leave me enjoying the best of health
