Dear Cousin

I received your letter some time ago but I have been putting off writing.

Dont ever think that transport drivers go into the trenches, I have never been under rifle fire yet, have been shelled a few times.

I am glad to hear that Maggie and Frank are married, she will have a good home.

The first thing you know it will be Ethel and Jack he must like batching.

Say kid dont mention ice cream for it and I are miles apart.

You bet I remember that Saltpeter,

My I was surprised you hear from Gracie isnt she a dainty little writer.

Norma does not write to Billie anymore, not that I know of.

You say you wont get anymore auto rides, quite a few in store for you if what Gracie say’s is true ha ha.

I am glad to hear Jack and Jess, and Nellie are all well.

I hope the whole world would gets against Germany, and get this war over.

No dances It must be dry.

The weather is very funny in France, some days hot some cold.

Say Essie can you tell me what is good to kill lice, I am so Lousie as a pet coon, got to pick them of my shirt every day, this is the worst of Soldiering.

Well Essie I think this is all So bye bye with love and best wished to Essie
