My Dear Father,

I have only just got some more paper, so could not write you before as I promised. Yesterday I received the parcel with belt etc. I am very pleased with the belt, it will come in very useful. The ointment is just what I am wanting, for my neck got very sore with the cold weather, and cold cream is just the stuff to fix it. I have absolutly no news for you, so I hope you will excuse a short letter. We are still having very frosty weather, but we are hopeing it will keep up, as it is much better than the continual rain, and mud which we had last year. And we have good warm clothes so it does not hurt us at all. Well the paper to-day says the Allies are going to end the war by the end of the summer if possible, that will be very nice. I had a letter from Bert, and he wished to be remembered to you all, he seems to be pretty well settled over here now. Of course he would rather be back in Whitley, but still he is getting along alwright. Well you will think this is a very short letter, but I have nothing to talk about. So I must close now, give my best love to Eve and Mother. I will write again soon. Hope everybody is keeping well.

Your Affectionate Son
Eddie
