Dear Mother and Father

I will drop you a few lines to let you know I am still alive and safe in England. I am not able to be out yet although I have been out of bed for three days.

My left foot is on the bum for a while but it is nothing serious so do not worry as I will be good as ever in a couple of weeks.

I have been out of France for nearly a month now and I sure am getting treated fine here, with lots to eat and all kinds of good care.

My address is #790379 Pte A.J. Stretch V.A.D. Hospital London Road, Kettering England. So write soon to your loving son
Amos

P.S. Tell Dad that it will not be long before the most of us will be home.
Amos
