Dear Mother:-

I just finished a letter home and neglected to acknowledge receipt from Rhoda of parcel also one from Millicent Walker, also letter from Fannie Walker in France, the latter I am acknowledging now.

The good lady we are with now brings us coffee every morning as soon as we get up, so Donkin and I intend having some to-night too with Millicent's cake. We mess in a tent. It is cold but we do not spend much time there. There must be four inches of snow now on the ground.

Will write again as soon as we have a nice warm billet as I said with electric light and table, a chair, etc. so have lots of opportunity to write. 38th Bn., Army P.O. France.

With love to all.
Alex.
