Nov. 8, 1916.

Dear Ones All,

I forgot to tell you in my letter of yesterday that I heard from Pat Shaw a few days ago, saying that he was coming up to town to see me and bringing Albert [?], Allan Todd and Roy Whitehead with him. Now I do wish he had come before I left Adastral House! It would have been great sport introducing those fellows to the English chaps at the office.

However, I wrote to him at once telling him that I would get leave for this coming week-end and would either meet him in town or go down to Witley to see him there. Witley is in Surrey and so is this place and it won't take long for me to get there in case he decides that it will be better for us to meet there.

I also asked him to come up here and see some flying if he could possibly arrange it. As I think I told you, nearly all the bigger aeroplane manufacturers here have test sheds at this aerodrome and you can see them trying out the newest and fastest machines in the world here every day. There is one type of tiny scout that I love to watch. It is so heavily powered that it does not require to run on the ground at all before rising and when it does get up it toddles along at a rate something over two miles per minute. I am planning to buy on for Mother to use when she wants to attend [?] meeting in Hanover.

And so I hope to see Pat within the next few days and will write and tell you all about it.

Very best love to you all,
As always,
Eric.
