Somewhere in France
17th May 1917

Dear Winnie: –

I received your letter a few days ago & was glad to hear everything was going O. K.

Did you even think of going to the Bank to get my book entered to date.

I had a letter from home a short time since.

I am still at Brigade Headquarters. Although we work long hours, seven days a week, it is much better than "in the line".

We had a few weeks of summer but we are back again to the "Sunny" France whether, rain, muck, mud, etc.

Did you see where the Civil Service of B.C. is on the same basis as that of the Dominion Inside Service. As no political pull is required it might not hurt for Annie to try them.

I suppose you will be writing soon –.

Hoping to be back in Canada soon.

Jack.
