Dear Mother & All

There is a Boat leaving tomorrow but we are not getting away on it because we have to wait our turn according to our arrival. That seems rather nasty after waiting down the line for five months but such is the Army. Our fellow is leaving who did not enter hospital until about 6 weeks after I did.

This is Easter Sunday and they had C of E [letter damaged, likely “service”] but I did not attend on account of what happened last Easter.

[letter damaged, likely “I”] suppose every one will [letter damaged] in Spring Style today well if you have weather as we have there you can have a real good time

Excuse this scribble and short note.

With love

Alfred

P.S.

I have just heard that they have started to build the ship we are to go home on.

Our papers seem to in a muddle here.
