Dearest Mother

I rec your Dear letter some days ago. am very glad you are all O.K. But very sorry to hear of Granfathers Death But Maybe it is the best, you say you hurd his Well read But did not say what was in it, Well Mother I am feeling very good only a bad cold. I am just up here waiting for Florence I am going up to see her at 330 her Mother is away just now visiting her dad at Chatham that is where he works, so I guess Florence is all alone now for a week or so, Florence is feeling very good, But the lettle animal makes her feel rutten some times,

Well it seems very funy working in London now, But we have a real good shop, I am putting in Engine & Electric lights But am neary all through now, so will be starting work about Monday or Tusday, we have about 5000 rifles to get out right away the name of our shop is (Small Arms Insections & repair Dept)

I am in a real good bellet But we are three in a bed so expect to be moving very soon if we dont get another bed in our room, three is to many, But our meals are fine, we work from 8 am to 12 30 & from 2 P.M. untell 5 30 PM. 8 hours a day so not so bad.

Well Mother I have no news at all evey thing is about the same.

of corse we expect the young animal about the 15th of Oct But have a lot to do between now & then, But am looking forword to geting back to Canada again, But it wont be this year, But hope next, But I Guess I will be right here now untell the war ends, and after the baby is born Florence & I will be living together again, But not untell then as she is much best at home, with her Mother, I am geting to dislike this Country more every day. Canada is the best Country in the world; this country is too dirty. dirty streets & dirty people.,

Well I hope Greta is geting on fine now, & hope she likes married life tell her not to come over to this country she will be sorry if she does., But if she does she can come down & live where I am in Greenwich, But Greenwich is not very nice all working people.

Well Mother I guess I will close Hoping Hazel & all are well, give them my best Love, I will send you a snap of me taken in Ashford befor I left there, With all my Love. I am as ever your Loving son
