My Dearest Mother

Will Mother I did not rec your mail this week, But I have been moving so that is why I will rec it tomorrow I guess, I am in Ashford now, I am out here puting in the Electric work for the new Ross Rifle factory, I expect I will be here some time But dont know how long, we are bellited in House for the time, a very nice place too, so am fairing very good, my operation & sickness is nearly all over now. I am feeling fine again although a very bad cold in my head from sleeping in tents with 6 inchs of snow around me, and wet tents & geting froze every night in bed. But am geting to be my self again now & will be fine when I get my little Wife down here to look after me, Ashford is a very nice place about 16 000 people our working are in center of town, & I am rooming right in center too,

The people treet us Canadians fine, there is only 150 Canadians in town, and every body thinks we are just it, we could have six girls a night, I have met a fue girls, they sure are pretty girls all rights, and the girls will do any thing to get us to go out with them, they ask us to there house & will do any thing for us, I have a lettle fun some times, But no girl in England is half as good as Florrie, I think to much of her to go out with any one else.

It is very cold today But nearly all the snow has gone now, But it is stell cold, I am setting beside the fire with with my feet on it keeping warm, I am going out for walk around town as soon as I am through here, to see what it looks like. We have not got paid for a month now, so I have not had money for five weekes, our pay master beat it with 75 Pounds last week insted of paying us, But expect to be paid by end of this month. Pay Master was always drunk any way,

Will I guess this is all the news untell I hear from you, I have no stamps But am going to Bum some untell pay day. Hope every thing is O.K at Home, and all are well, Best Love to all. I am as ever your loving son Harold
