Sat. P. M.

Dear Dorothy, -

I wonder what you are doing this beautiful summer afternoon. I rode across to Margate on a “Char-a-banc” (a huge motor car) for a little trip. It was a beautiful ride, through long shady lanes, past tiny fields and orchards and gardens; thro quaint little towns, and by old wayside inns where mine host sat smoking under the shade of the giant chestnut trees, and always between the green English hedge-rows.

Margate is a beautiful town and has miles and miles of the most wonderful sandy beach.

Wouldn't you like to be with me? But don't I wish that I was with you.

Lovingly

Markle
