Ore, Hastings

Canadian Military Hospital

My Dear Father, -

I'm sure I don't know where or when my “peregrinations in this metropolis” will end. I wrote to mother yesterday & told her that I was being sent out here to Ore Hospt. Well before long I am to continue my tour of the old country. This morning, thank goodness, I had an examination by a good Dr. and I think that he sized up the trouble pretty thoroughly. He called the previous doctors that I have had, all the 'fat heads' that ever lived. He said that he would send me to Ramsgate Hospt. I am not just sure where Ramsg. is, but I believe is somewhere near London. Just what treatment they will give it there I do not know yet. Of course I am not in the least averse to going back to a hospital again, for the longer I stay in Blighty, the better I will be pleased. I am sorry to have to leave Argyle again, as we have been together now for over a month and have certainly enjoyed ourselves immensely both on pass & at Host. Poor Mac Im afraid he will be back in France before long. He is just about perfectly fit now.

Mine has proven to be a 'good Blighty' as the boys call it. No pain, always able to get around & enjoy myself, and yet of such a nature as to render me unfit for service, if not for good, at least for some time yet.

If I do not leave here tomorrow, I am going to try to get a pass to go down to Eastbourne. [word deleted 'tomorrow'] Pecovers are going down tomorrow. Will let you know in a few days where I am

Lovingly, your boy

 Markle
