Diary

Friday, 28th August.

We are now well over strength both in men and horses. We left camp at 2.30 P.M. today, marched to the C.N.R. Depot at the foot of Cherry St. and entrained men and horses. Our train left at about 8 P.M. The second section with our harness and baggage was sent on later.

There were many Mothers, sisters and sweethearts there to say "farewell," and the train started amidst a shower of good wishes from the assembled crowds.
