Dear Kiddo-

I write these few lines hoping to find you and the children all well as it leaves me at present, I just received your two letters, this morning about an hour ago, so I am trying to write one in reply, before we have to start work, we are in a place now, where we are under shell fire all the time, I have allready had a few near ones, but still a miss, is as good as a mile, you mentioned in your letter about the post-card I sent to baby and asking me to get one, for little [Dorri?] well in the first place we are not in Belgium, now therefore I cannot get one neither can I get a card of France, because we are in a place where there are no stores, or a place of any description where we can buy anything, for miles around but of course if we move from here to a place where we can get anything, why of course I will do my best to get a card, and as for the twenty five cents, why you should not have bothered about that, I have not had a letter from your Mother yet, they must have lose my number or something, I got the parcel alright, that you sent from the Exibition thanks for the Maple Buds you are sending us, they will be all right here because we cannot buy any here, kiss the kiddies for me, I guess I will close my letter now as they are collecting the mail [as too?] for the present from your Loving Husband Herbert
