Dear Betts, -

Hello my beautiful sister – how goes it?

Well I sure have a pile of letters to answer from you small fry. Guess I had better get cracking.

The oldest one is #23 – written June 14th – I've received all the previous ones too which is very good.

Hope you had a good time at C.G.I.T. Camp. The house sure must have been dead without you around to kick up a fuss.

I'll look. Ted up sometime – after I drop him a note – but it will likely be a while before I get a chance to see him.

George & I are going to Scotland sometime this week, as it might be our last leave together – hope we are posted together again – we sure have been lucky up to date.

Your #24 letter came around the end of last month - & for some reason or other it was opened by the cencors – first time that has ever happened. Always something new!

Was pleased to hear that they are finally having Air Raid Alerts in Edmonton – its about time – you know that if they ever took Vancouver (don't worry – they won't) – but if they ever did – it only takes a fast bomber a little over 4 hours (with a full load of bombs) to get to Edmonton from Vancouver. Not a very pleasant thought is it?

I'll bet Scotty was a cute casualty – all wrapped up in make believe bandages.

That was a nice photo in the paper of Mary McKinnon & Bob – I never even knew they went around together – I'm always behind the times it seems.

I see that Charlie Dunkley is up to his neck in War Work as usual, its good to see that the old country boys are being shown a good while they are in Canada. Because over here the people are all pretty swell to us. Of course there are the odd ones – but then they could live in any country.

There is only one thing that I miss over here really – Canadian gals! No sir the English girls just aren't in it at all, when it comes to looks, personality, energy or anything. But maybe I'm prejudiced being in love with Doreen.

Well, look after yourself and Mom. Don't let Mom worry too much about the business or she'll be sick, everything will turn out alright in the end.

So long for now.

Yours,

Bill.

PS: - Be good!

B.
