Dear Bro. Bill:-

Just a few lines to let you know I have received your letter dated May 19th. I got it last-night just after returning from the trenches. I am well at present and glad to know you are all the same. I received parcel on the thirteenth, the cake was all smashes to crumbles.

The weather is very warm you are doing well with the land. Why you must have just a nice little [section missing] on the way you are doing. It is the only way to get along through this war, glad to know Henry’s wound is healing up so fine, it will not be long till he is out, and able to go around.

Well I think this is all the new’s for this time.
No more from your brother,
Wesley
