Thursday June 15th.

Dear Mother:-

Your letter along with Peggies note, arrived in camp this morning, and must say I was glad to get it. The mail is somewhat slow in getting here, but when you come to think ofall it has to go through, we cannot expect it much sooner. All our mail goes first to Shorncliffe and is then mailed forward to Bramshott, whether it is held up in Army Post Office at London I am not sure, and again there is the boats. How are my letters arriving?

Well I think in my last letter I mentioned we were likely to leave for France anytime. We have been given new equipment and were to have left last week, but this was cancelled. However this was just temporary, and it has again come up. I beleive this time we may go, however one does not know what they may do. If we should go our draft is reinforcing the 3rd Battln which was originally I believe the “Queens Own” of Toronto. I suppose all the soldiers in town have gone to Sewell. Well its a year ago today we first went into Minto St barracks. I got a letter from Art Webb the other day and he asked me to try and see Ralph for him. Ralph came over with the 78th and there at Borden at present. I thought Ralph was with the 107th. While we were shooting at Longemoore we were about a half hours walk from where they were staying and I could have easily looked him up. Just now though we’re eight miles from their camp and Sunday is the only day I can get up there. So Alex Donner didn’t like England, Well I thought so when I first saw him. He did not go up to London and he also mentioned that he could not stand the grub. I’m sure he had lots of nice things to say about England in his letters. He is over in France now I beleive, maybe Lawrence McMurrays there too. There draft left last Thursday and we were supposed to have gone with them.

Well mother just got word we leave 6’oclock tonight. I am sending home negative of pictures taken and will write as soon as possible. Remember me to all and dont worry now, leave it to me. Good bye

Your loving son

Larry
