Dearest Mother:-

I’m just getting ready for bed so I’d better drop you a line first. I had a letter from you this morning and then this afternoon I got one from Ted & I found out he’s over here.

First, I’m glad you liked the roses but I’m sorry you didn’t get them in time for your birthday. I wired on the 9th and I had hoped you’d get them in time. I’d have liked to have seen them though, and I do hope they were nice.

I’m glad you had a letter from Marjorie – I hear from her quite regular and she said she was going to drop you a line. She’s really a grand girl – in fact they don’t come any better than her.

I had a letter from Marilyn too & she says she’s going home for christmas & I sure envy her. I sure used to have fun at her place – Laurie & I. Speaking of Laurie – he’s doing well in Cairo & he & Art & I are looking forward to seeing each other & having a real re-union again.

I had a grand letter from Mrs. McLean the other day – she’s so swell. I also heard from Glen’s girlfriend – she’s really swell too. Well I must go to bed cause I have to get up early – so good night & God Bless you Mum – All My Love – Edwin.
