Dear Sir,

Many thanks for nice long letter received today, was very glad to hear from you all, & to know everything was alright with you.

I have been away on X mas leave for 5 days & have had a really splendid time away, & enjoyed myself immensely.

The Princess Pats are at the front now & our time here is drawing to a close & we will not be sorry to be away.

So you are a Captain now in the Home Guard, I wish you were with us & we could have great talks here.

Glad you had a good time with the hunt, you got quite a bag of game.

Must say good-bye wishing you all a Happy & Prosperous New Year & the best of good health,  kind regards from

Walter.
