Dear Mr. Irwin

I now take the pleasure of answering your welcome letter received today in Hospital I thought I was never going to get any more mail by the look of things as I had none for any for over a month I have been in hospital over five weeks now took the usual disease first and then pleurisy I think the influenza is an awful disease as everybody seems to get it and one takes sick so quick with it I have been in three hospitals and am in a Canadian one at last it is a very good Convalescent Camp but not a hospital as far as I can see for the time I have been here but we will soon be all home and we will certainly be happy I am expecting to go England anytime now and from there home please excuse poor writing as pen and ink is hard to get

Yours Sincerely
