SINCE FESTUBERT
Capt D. Mackenzie Moore

Who is wounded and missing. He is a cousin of Capt. C.W. Peck who was wounded in the same battle of Festubert, and brother of C.H. Moore of Vancouver. Capt. Moore was very well known here, being largely interested in the canneries of British Columbia. The missing officer was formerly from Hopewell, Alberta county [?] and came to this province in 1898. He volunteered with the first Prince Rupert detachment, proceeding to the front with the 30th battalion from Victoria. His company was [?] from Shorncliffe to reinforce the 16th battalion after St. Julien and he received his wounds at the capture of the Orchard at Festubert. When last seen Capt. Moore was evidently wounded , as he was on his knees periodically using his revolver on the Germans. Since that day all trace of him has been lost.
