Dear old pal:

I was so glad to find three dear letters waiting for me last night. You know I hadn't heard anything after your letter from Val[?] and I was so afraid that perhaps in the last few days things might have gone wrong. Your letters were 1st, 6th and 8th. You have had a glorious experience dear heart and I'm so glad you have been there for it all.

I went out to see Pug to-day and he is improving all the time. He expects to be moved to a Canadian hospital almost any time and I wouldn't be surprised if it meant home for him pretty soon. I was hoping he would be here for a while after he got convalescent so I could show him around London. Now I must close my darling. I hope to get a letter soon written on Peace day. All love and kisses my darling to make you happy. Your little pal Alice Leighton
