Dear Mom:

Just a received your first letter dated at Apr. 28/44. You were right about the address. but Norma’s letter dated May 8 got here first. Some system! I might get over to see Larry but I doubt it very much. but I will write him a letter. What a surprise, Norma getting a present from Mrs. Campbell. By the way I got a letter from Jack, saying he hoped that we could get together for a weekend. Some fun. I told him that Norma graduated so he replied, I quote “I’m glad Norma has done so well, when you write to her give her my congratulations.” From him that’s good. No congrat’s from him to me though. OH well. Have you any pictures you can send me. Any pictures will be welcome, a touch of home or something. Boy 83%. What a sister. I’m sure she looked lovely. I have her picture over my bed and everybody wants to meet her. Some even say she looks like me. HA! By the way Mrs. Styles I’m mad at you. Yes sir. I sent that $50 for you to go to Mtl. for Norma’s grad and splurg and have a real good time. So you write and tell me “I’m using some of the 50 on this trip” Hell you were suppose to use all of it on that trip. You only go to a grad of hers like that once. Have you started to receive the extra monyes yet? That letter, if it is the one I’m thinking of, was not mailed by me at Truro. I gave it to the Padre on the train to our port of leaving Can. and he said he would mail it after a safe period so that is why it took so long. I wish I had known that Mary couldn’t cable. I could have told you in my cable. Did you get the flowers I cabled for Mother’s Day? Well, I wrote yesterday so I can’t think of anything else.

Your loving son
Jack
