Bramshott Camp Feb 4th/17 My Dearest Father: Just a line I am writing Jessie today we are having a foot inspection this afternoon they have something to keep us in every day. we drill eight hours a day and on Sunday they will have a Kit inspection. or foot or something else. I would like to be up with Spence. they are still at Witley. how are you standing the cold this winter. I got some pictures from Jessie the other day. they were dandy. Gow has a bag of feed on his shoulder as usual. I had a letter from Spencer the other day he told me that Ervin [?] thought he could get us Vic and me in the C.A.S.C., I hope he does. Anything to get out of the  inf. This 17th Vic is in quarantine yet expects to get out this week. this is an awful place for mumps. this have been a great day. we got the web equipment yesterday it is some rig much better than the other there may be a draft go anytime now. this is a hard place to write. every body talking and jumping around they are sending all the men over 40 back to Canada. well what do you think of U.S.A. now. Germany is getting pretty savage. a mad dog bites hard when he is nearly done and cornered some of the old fellows are betting hear 10 to 1. that there won't be a shot fired after March 31st but it is a hard to bet on I guess I will close with Lots of Love Aff Son Don
