My dear friends,

By resolution of Kamloops Masonic Lodge I am directed to express our sympathy to you and our late Bro. Carter's family in the grief less sustained by the heroic death of our brother who did his full measure of duty and made the supreme sacrifice-"They never fail who die in a great cause" and while we deplore his loss yet we are proud of his record which will be handed down as a legacy to his children in whom we shall have a special interest and if any assistance should be required I trust you will not hesitate to acquaint us with that fact.
