Dear Mother

I have not received your letter yet but I suppose it will be here soon now.
I have not been able to get away to see Uncle & Grandpa yet but I think I can get a weekend off this week.

We have started shooting now. We have been supplied with Lee Enfield rifles. I think we will be going this month to the front but I cannot be sure.

Everything is about the same here. It has been brighter the last few days.
Jim Henry and Bentley and several other Melfort fellows are near us. They came with the 65th. Tell Mrs. Henry I have seen Jim. It will likely please her.

Well I have told you about all now I think and my paper has run out so I will close. Give my love to Father and the kids and goodbye with much love from

Your loving son
George
