Dear Sister

I receive you letter date Nov 19th, 1916 and it is now Jan 5 1917. And I suppose I should have answer it soon but better late than never.

I suppose you are still working in the telephone office and having a duese of a good time skate and sleighing and I gues all the rest are at home to I will have to skate all next winter to make up for this one I got the box that Fed sent me and it was sure jake I have got the one you sent yet put I expect I will get it soon butt of course once on a while one goes astray or else some[?] one else think they need it worse the the fellow it is sent to

You siad you didn't know what to send. Just some gum cake, c chocalates and cigarettes is jake one ever month and as often between times as you can The Teslonements[?] alright to

That must be some coat you got all right a grey chinchilla I never heard of that animal before. I gues aunt Maggie must be pretty sick. alright poor thing though we can't help it You said you were having your picture taken and would sent me one if I wanted it I would not mind having it but I don't think I could keep it cause a fellow here part of the time and I can shut my eyes and see you any time and imagine I hear someone say when your all around the table some Sunday at supper if only Bill would come home we have a hell of a time to night What ever you do don't worry about me cause worring never help any one I sure had a dandy xmas our dinner was bully Beef and hard tack and it was our first trip into the trenches I gues I will remember this xmas ai[?] while I wish this darn war was all over and I was home on the farm I'd be willing to live in a barn two year if I could get home again this winter here hope you are all well You brother Bill
