Diary

June 26 - Carts came, bringing in a lot of wounded soldiers from the north; some that Big Bear left behind, his Indians badly wounded. "A" Company of the Midlands left for Saskatoon on the steamer "Baroness" to guard and bring up our wounded. Had more horse racing and games towards evening. Burnt Big Bear in effigy at night.
