Diary

April 22 - Got orders to move north (hurry, hurry) to go on boat up the South Saskatchewan to join General Middleton and escort the transport. Made an early start with remainder of battalion. We marched all day, arrived by dark. A good march of 33 miles. All pretty tired. Went on boat and threw ourselves anywhere for a sleep. We didn't want to eat, just sleep.
